Digital-to-Analog Converter was designed to help users plot the output analog signals converted from their digital counterparts on a chart at the press of a button.
Ideal converters would produce a sequence of impulses from the digital signals that were input. The impulses are reconstructed by an ideal low-pass filter in order to fill the data gaps between impulses. The ideal filter eliminates all frequencies above the cutoff frequency entirely and passes the ones below the threshold without modifying them.
This application is based on the Whittaker-Shannon interpolation formula, which describes how to reconstruct a continuous signal from a digital signal sample using a perfect low-pass filter.
It comes with a bunch of textboxes where users can input up to 10 digital sample amplitude values. These values will be used to build the analog signal.
After hitting the "Plot Signals" button, a graphical interpretation of your resulting signals will be displayed on your screen.
Note that the signal can never be 100% analog, since converters can't remove the shot noise and this produces a quantitization error, so the values that are generated by this application can be safely used only in theoretical environments.

It works with both positive and negative digital signal samples.
One digital input is always grounded, while the other one is not grounded.
The analog output values range from 0 to 1023.
Samples with a value above 1023 are plotted in positive direction, and a value below 1023 is plotted in negative direction.
The output value of a sample is the voltage level it produces over time.
Samples are plotted with a frequency given by the sampling rate, so the number of samples between two consecutive impulses on the output graph is given by the inverse of the sampling rate.
The amplitude of a sample can vary from 0 to 1023 in our chart, as the chart is sampling the amplitude of the input samples on every impulse.
The cutoff frequency of the ideal low pass filter is given by the formula 1 divided by the number of impulses in our sampling window, so the filter is really good at filtering all of the frequencies above the threshold, but it cannot filter any frequencies below the threshold.
